A widow is forced to spend the rest of her life in the mountains to honour her late deceased husband's spirit. As she tends to her crumbling shrine, she is told by a servant that brings her food from the parents home that the real owner of the shrine is the tiger god Sangun. The widow hides her husband's name plate, saying that her in-laws will not know anyway, and serves Sangun instead. One day, when the servant said, 'Sangun grants the wishes of people who serve him well,' the widow was curious and burned incense and made a wish. As her wishes come true one by one, the lonely widow's desire spreads from pathetically small objects to 'people'... Last Wish is the second short stories of series The Collected Short Stories Of Joseon Era.
